L’addition s’il vous plait !

As a guide to my fee, I’ll charge £40 for one hour’s tuition which includes preparation and writing-up. Lessons are from my house in Hythe, Kent or online. If I spend more than 15 minutes travelling to teach you I will reflect this in my lesson charge. A one hour session with a couple will cost you £50 together. Get in touch if you’re interested in lessons of less than or more than 60 minutes as this may change how much I’ll charge you. Ask me if I’ll do a discount for a batch of lessons paid upfront. Tell me if you are a group of students wanting to learn online.

What fee do I pay if I can’t attend?

Please notify me as soon as possible if you can’t make a class. I usually manage to reschedule within the week so that you won’t be charged a fee. However, please be aware that teaching is how I earn my living and a cancellation or change of time and day always has knock-on effects for me and sometimes for other students. I now levy a charge for last minute no-shows and will charge for a re-arranged session not attended.

Do you work at the weekend, if so, what is your fee?

Do ask if I have any slots at the weekend. I charge time and a half fees on Saturday and Sunday.

How I work, how you work

I take notes and use these as a basis for your revision and/or homework. Also, I provide any worksheets we use, will have podcasts or recordings if we’re using them. I tailor the lesson to you and the exam board you are sitting if this is relevant; effectiveness will increase as I understand your learning style better. With your feedback, I suggest what we might cover in the following session and ideas for how you can prepare for it and revise work covered in that day’s session.

You are the reason for the French lesson and your learning is our aim: your voice should be heard much more than mine!
